The Typical Beach Portrait Session

The Typical Beach Portrait Session

The Typical Beach Portrait Session

I wanted to take the time to explain the typical beach portrait session. Most of my beach portraits are similar. However, it often varies if you are vacationing at the Jersey Shore that week or driving to a beach such as Lake. Furthermore, it usually depends on what town your beach portrait session will take. For that reason, I’ll break it down with towns.

Spring Lake Family Beach Photos

My Spring Lake portrait sessions I often meet right out the beach. Compared to other beach towns, the town is relatively large, and most families drive to the beach. As a result, I’ll meet them at the beach of their choice and often in from of the Breakers Hotel on Ocean Avenue. With my Spring Lake family portrait sessions, I typically ask my family to arrive 15 minutes early. The reason for this is to develop a rapport with everyone. A connection is most important when there are small children involved. It’s more than likely that kids under four will not feel comfortable if they get to the beach and we start right away. However, when they arrive fifteen minutes early and we all talk, the young kids start warming up to me. I’ll test the waters during that time and get them to laugh before the session. From there, the beach session ends up going smoothlhy.

Spring Lake is similar as other beaches like Belmar, Lake Como, Bradley Beach, Asbury Park, and the rest of the beaches in that area on Ocean Avenue.

Long Beach Island Family Portrait Sessions

Long Beach Island family portraits sessions are usually different when they are up north, like Spring Lake. In LBI, every home is close to the ocean, and people usually live there full time or are renting for the week. As a result, I typically meet the families at the house they are staying at to introduce myself. Small children end up feeling comfortable since I am on their turf. Furthermore, it is nice to hang out with everyone before it starts. Everyone is more at ease, and it helps to get great expressions during the family portrait session.

Lavallette, Bay Head, Ortley Beach, Seaside Heights, and sometimes Point Pleasant portrait sessions are usually the same as Long Beach Island.

Your Beach Portrait Session

Regardless of where your beach portrait session will be, it’s a good idea for me to meet your family at least fifteen minutes before your beach portrait session. If you would like more information, please call (732) 306-6550, text be clicking HERE, or fill out the form below.
